~Malaysian Dancesport Competition~
Dancing and grooving away as usual...
Left for Kuala Lumpur last friday for the 'Malaysian Dancesport Competition'. Sitting in a coach for a total of 5 - 6hrs is really a torture gone through. Board the bus at 8pm and the journey was tedious. I was not able to sleep at all. The seats are cramp and I could hardly stretch my leg out. I was practically have leg cramps throughout the journey. Worse of all, the bus driver played a vcd movie on 'GREASE'. Sucky show I would say.... The next moment when I was able to fall asleep, I was then awoken by the loud music. Damn!!!! Horrible ride!
The whole KL trip was not a great one at all. Loads of situation happened throughout. The moment we checked into the hotel, we were suddenly told that we had to fork out the hotel money first when in the first place we were told that all lodging and dance registration expenses were paid. All we need were our own expenses to spend. It was 230am in the morning when we reached the hotel. I wonder if we all were not able to spilt out the money, I bet we were be sleeping along the roadside.
The second day was not great at all as well. We didnt have enough sleep as most of us slept at 430am in the morning. When we were all prepared to leave for breakfast at the nearby coffee shop, the worse part came. I LOST S$50!!! It was so stupid of me to forget that I place S$100 in my passport and forgot to put them in my wallet. I bet the custom lady took it! Hai.... Poorer by S$50!! and that would be like $100 ringgit! Damn! But after all the retail therapy me and Caryn had. I didnt feel the ache much more. Love Caryn... we carry the same pronounciation of name and we too had the same choice of taste in clothes and shoes and mostly everything also. Sweet nice gal I would say.
We had fun at the KLCC science centre. The science centre there really cannot compare with the one in Singapore.
Back at the hotel, many things happened.... couples quarrelling.... having to torerate each other's habits.
Sunday!! Here comes the big event. The dance competition day. Actually, me, Vannessa and Caryn wanted to return to the hotel to have a proper wash up. Last minute, we decided not to go back to the hotel to change. Everyone of us were in a rush. We all had to assemble at the lobby at 830am... but by the time we start to do our hair, it was already 730am... the time was very tight considering that we had to style our hair and a little make up on first.
Reach the competition venue to test out the floor and for registration, after that we were all off to the toilet to do the rest of our make up. Woo.... I have a thick layer of make up smack on my face and loads of hair gel and hair spray to 'stick' my hair together.
230pm was when we started our dance competition.
Beginner's cha cha cha... Amelia and some of them said that me and Theodore did well... and indeed we managed to get into the semi-finals considering that there are many strong competitors out there.
The most dreadful part was during our jive dance, I think I totally let Theo down. We practiced so hard for the dance. But I have no idea why but I suddenly went blank at the dancefloor. I forgot all my dance step routine. I stopped.... I dragged.... my mind was empty... I just didnt know what to do.
We didnt have the time to catch our breath and immediately it was the semi-finals cha cha cha. Gosh!! OMG!!
After the whole event, I was sad.... after all the hard work... we had fun but it didnt pay off. Hai!!
Oh well, by the end of the competition, we were dead tired.
At night was when all the fun was supposed to be. The usual gang, Caryn, Chun Lim, Daryl, Harie, Karen... we all bought McDonald's back to the hotel... and started talking crap. Then I spilled out my saddness to them. And what Daryl said made me touch, 'I really salute you and Theo. You guys still managed to get into the semi-finals considering that you only took 2 days to learn the whole cha cha routine. Theo didnt really had the time and both of you hardly managed to practice, you guys are good and daring to join the competition.' Oh man... so love what Daryl said.
Then, everyone gathered at 'my' room, but before I could do anything, I knocked out dead tired... Even though they were all laughing to the core, I just was not able to wake up and check out was going on. I only sort of know that someone tucked in while I was sleeping.
Finally, the next day was the day to check out and leave for Singapore. We were all so happy. Missed our beds and Singapore NEWater... Oh.. did I tell you that the hotel was super miserable when it was supposed to be a 3-star hotel. Pathetic small screen TV. Taps were rusty, water was yellow/brown... Eeek!!
But the best drama part was that at 12pm, Marcus and Michelle quarrelled very badly... so bad to the extend that Marcus packed all his luggage and left the hotel. These peeks are always quarrelling. Michelle is a very stubborn and tempermental person who always wants her way. Everyone calls her the 'high class ah lian'... -_-''' Hai.... whatever they are.... I just wonder how Marcus is able to tolerate her for a year. MAN!!!
Oh anyway, back in Singapore and I had to work immediately the next day. Sian.....
Talked to Harie and Caryn and got to know that Theo still wants me as his dance partner... Woo Hoo .. And the next competition in 31st July, he's going for it and I would be his partner... Hurray!!! Thank god!
